On January 5, 2022, Microsoft released a possible block of Xbox Series X/S Developers mode. This does not seem to be the case, since the American giant has mobilized to officially deny the news.
Jason Ronald, head of the Xbox Series X/S project, spoke on the issue, explaining the situation in a series of tweets. “We have no intention of removing or disabling Developer mode on Xbox consoles. We will continue to support and believe in a thriving community of indie developers and apps on Xbox,” Ronald says, revealing that the misunderstanding could have resulted from a simple error in maintenance work: “As part of regular regular periodic maintenance time
“We are working actively – Ronald continues – to identify and reactivate them as soon as possible. Once an account is rehabilitated, users will be able to access the Xbox Console Developers mode again. We apologize for the inconvenience and will work to resolve the issue, thank you for your patience.” The designer finally invites all those affected by the problem to contact [email protected] to report the issue.
In short, Developer mode does not go anywhere and will continue to be part of the Xbox experience. Meanwhile, according to an insider, more than 30 exclusive Xbox Series X/S will be coming in 2022, with several games still wrapped in mystery ready to be revealed in the coming months.
