Ubisoft Quartz: What Is The Nft Program And How Does It Work?

In recent times Ubisoft has announced the program with NFT expansions Ubisoft Quartz, which will implement blockchain-based content and cryptocurrencies in its games, starting with Ghost Recon Breakpoint. The Beta testing of the service started on December 7, 2021 in the United States and Canada.

But how does the Ubisoft NFT program work? The official website provides all the details about Quartz features. It is described as “a new experience for our players, based on our desire to create an ever greater connection between you and the worlds of play you love. The goal is to give you more autonomy and power when interacting with the gaming objects that help you build your own story. This is the place where you can buy Ubisoft’s first Non-Fungible Tokens, Digits, which can be used in HD games based on low-energy technologies.”

The Digits are therefore to be considered as real NFTs: they are in-game content (such as weapons, vehicles and equipment) of aesthetic type that allows users to “complete your missions with style.” Each Digits is part of a unique edition, with users who can buy only one per edition, and will always be linked to the name of the player who owns it as well as to those who have had it before. Digits can be sold or bought at any time: the sale is not done directly on Quartz, but through third-party platforms.

Among the faqs on the official website, besides confirming that Digits have no impact on gameplay and are meant as purely cosmetic objects, Ubisoft explains how to use them in Ghost Recon Breakpoint and the requirements to access them:

Play on PC via Ubisoft Connect

Reaching the level of experience 5 in the game

Activate two-factor authentication of Ubisoft Connect

At least 18 years old

Be resident in one of the following countries: United States, Canada, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Brazil, Australia

The first three free Digits related to the last Ghost Recon are as follows:

M4A1 Tactical Wolves – available from 9 December 2021 to 7:00 p.m.

Wolf Enhanced Helmet A – available from 12 December 2021 to 7:00 p.m.

Wolf Enhanced Pants – Available from December 15th at 7:00 p.m.

We remember that the service is currently in Beta phase and that, therefore, it is not to be excluded that possible changes on how to get the Digits can be introduced in the near future, perhaps with the announcement of additional games that will support the service. At the moment, however, players have not received the new move of the French giant at all: the video of Ubisoft Quartz has reached 95% dislike on Youtube, triggering the ire, but also the irony of users.
