It’s a day of updates in the video gaming console universe! The month of December opened with the publication of the new firmware 13.2.0 of Nintendo Switch, but not only.
A short distance from the update of the hybrid console, Sony’s next gen hardware also welcomes a new system update. Specifically, this is firmware 21.02-04.50.00, now available for download on PlayStation 5. In order to proceed with the installation, players will not have to wait long: the size of the file is in fact very contained.
PS5’s update 21.02-04.50.00 only weighs 914 MB and does not bring any big news about Sony hardware functionality. In describing the purposes of the update, the Japanese giant is actually limited to announcing a generic improvement in the system performance of PlayStation 5. No further details on this were shared by Sony’s team. The firmware dated December 1, 2021 can already be downloaded by players.
Meanwhile, the update to the PS5 App on YouTube has introduced some very popular news, such as the possibility to exploit the HDR even while playing movies set in 4K resolution and with frame rate at 60 fps. Much requested by the community, the feature was introduced without any particular ads from Google or Sony.
