With 5.57 million units sold, Nintendo Switch was by far the most successful console in 2021 in Japan. It closed the year near the 23 million total units, a wall that has already passed in these first weeks of 2022. PlayStation 5, for its part, has gone close to the million consoles sold. It would probably have made better results with a more widespread distribution. Unfortunately, the shortage of supplies is still a reality all over the world. The Xbox Series X Plus performance is worth highlighting, one year after its launch it has already passed the results achieved by Xbox One in Japan during its entire life cycle.
