After more than 20 years of the original release, Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty continues to enjoy the admiration of fans and to be considered one of the best exponents of the saga designed by Hideo Kojima.
After trying to transpose the first chapter of the series into Unreal Engine 4, the developer and artist Erasmus Brosdau is rebuilding part of Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty exploiting the amazing potential of Unreal The work, at least for the moment, is limited to recreating the introductory sequence of the adventure of Solid Snake, consisting in large part of cinematic scenes without gameplay.
Brosdau has not yet finished the work and, through the chirping you find below, gives us only a small taste of the results achieved so far. It’s a few seconds of video, but it seems as clear as the reconstruction of such an iconic sequence through an engine designed for the ninth generation videogames has great potential, as the remake fanmade Silent Hill in the EU has already demonstrated.
A leap into the past in the hopeful expectation that the official remake of Metal Gear Solid will be announced sooner or later, although the rumors that wanted the project to be presented soon have not found official feedback to date.
