Diablo 2 Will Receive The First Patch At Balance After Almost 12 Years

The latest patch for Diablo 2 gameplay balance dates back to March 23, 2010. Since then, the immortal hack ‘n’ slash has never updated again. That version, identified as 1.13c,- became the basis on which Diablo 2 Resurrected was built, re-edition landed this year on PC and console.

Well, this long period is about to end, as Blizzard Entertainment has just announced the arrival of Patch 2.4 for Diablo 2: Resurrected, which will give an important refreshment to the gameplay. The launch is currently scheduled in the first months of next year in the PTR, available exclusively on PC. After a test period, the update will also be distributed on console.

The aim of this intervention is to expand the diversity of character configurations while maintaining the style of play and the uniqueness of each class. To reach them, the development team is reviewing unused skills, verifying delays in launch times, modifying descriptions for greater clarity and more. In addition to balancing changes, patch 2.4 will also reintro the Ladder Mode in four different variants:

Standard Ladder – The normal version of the ladder mode that plans to play in four acts;

– The normal version of the ladder mode that plans to play in four acts; Ladder hardcore – The hardcore version (1 life only) of the ladder mode that plans to play in four acts;

– The hardcore version (1 life only) of the ladder mode that plans to play in four acts; Standard Ladder expansion – The normal version of the ladder mode that plans to play in five acts, including the contents of the Lord of Destruction expansion;

– The normal version of the ladder mode that plans to play in five acts, including the contents of the Lord of Destruction expansion; Ladder hardcore expansion – The hardcore version (1 life only) of the ladder mode that plans to play in five

In this regard, Blizzard said: “For the first time, players will have the opportunity to unlock a new set of rune words in the Ladder mode! For clarity, these rune words have never existed before in the game and will not be available in non-ladder modes, just like the previous groups of rune words reserved for the ladder mode in the original Diablo II experience. At the end of the season, players who have successfully created these rune words will see their characters moved into a version of the game non-ladder. Later, at the beginning of the next season, they will be able to create a new character and start over to get new rewards.”
