The new update of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla introduced several new features within the game, including the possibility to opt for an experience in performance mode or graphic mode, with focus on frame rate and resolution respectively.
Despite the welcome addition, it seems that the 1.0.4 patch also had unforeseen consequences. The constant active users on Resetera are the ones to discuss this. The pages of the well-known forum report that the performance of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla has been significantly deteriorated in its PlayStation 5 version. The players involved in the Viking epic on the new Sony console mention particular defects in the performance mode, which sees the frame rate fall to 40 fps in certain contexts. At the moment, the reason for this technical unforeseen situation does not seem clear.
On the contrary, the situation seems to be broadly stable on Xbox Series X, while it refers to an improvement of the title on Microsoft’s entry level hardware, with the performance mode of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla on Xbox Series S Good results seem to involve this latest version of the game also in the graphics mode. For now, Ubisoft’s team does not seem to have offered any details about the reports of video gamers engaged in the 11th century British lands.
